TCF Tout Public (Mandatory only)

TCF Tout Public

The TCF Tout Public is intended for any person aged 16 or over whose first language is not French and who wishes to have their level of French assessed for:

• academic reasons (students, prospective students, interns...)
• professional reasons (employees or prospective employees...)
• personal reasons

The TCF Tout Public is the official test recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Culture as part of the DAP (Demande d'Admission Préalable) (with Writen expression mandatory).

Exam structure

The TCF Tout Public consists of 3 compulsory tests in multiple-choice question (MCQ) format and 2 optional complementary tests in exercise format, which candidates may choose to take depending on their needs.

Compulsory tests:

• Listening comprehension
• Mastery of language structures
• Reading comprehension

Optional tests:

• Written expression
• Oral expression

Total duration for the compulsory tests: 2 hour 30 minutes.

Level assessed

The TCF Tout Public assesses French language skills on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from level A1 to C2.

Recognition

As the French-language proficiency test of the French Ministry of National Education, the TCF Tout Public is recognised by:

• the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation
• the Direction de l'intégration et de l'accès à la nationalité under the Ministry of the Interior
• the Ministry of Culture
• the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration du Québec (MIFI)
• university authorities
• language training centres
• the professional world

Results

Upon successful completion, you will receive an official certificate issued by France Éducation international, valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

This product covers registration for the TCF Tout Public examination at Alliance Française de Malte-Méditerranée. Once registered, you will receive full details about the exam date, venue, and what to bring on the day.

Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise stated.
